Turnitin Training for Academic Staff
The Faculty of Industrial Engineering at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta held a training session on Friday, September 27, 2019, at the Computer Laboratory of the Department of Informatics, with the theme "Introduction to Turnitin Usage." The event began at 13:00 WIB and was attended by all academic staff (tendik) within the Faculty of Industrial Engineering.
Turnitin is a web-based application that can detect plagiarism in written works, which must be tested for originality. By using this application, the level of similarity between a work and previously published works can be determined.
The Turnitin usage training was conducted by the UPT Library of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, inviting Dr. Johan Danu Prasetya, S. Kel, M. Si as the training resource person. He explained the steps for using Turnitin in detail, ensuring that the academic staff could quickly master the material. With this training, the staff can assist in monitoring all scientific works by both lecturers and students, thus producing high-quality writing that benefits the development of science, technology, and society.
