History of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering

Based on the joint decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Number: 0307/0/1994 and Kep/10/XI/1994 regarding the Enhancement of Service at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" through the Implementation of Linkages and Equivalence, dated November 29, 1994, effective from April 1, 1995, the status of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) as a government-affiliated higher education institution changed to a private higher education institution (PTS) under the Yayasan Kejuangan Panglima Besar Sudirman (YKPBS).

Area of the Study Program

In the decree, FTI-UPNVY is a faculty that manages three departments, namely the Department/Study Program of Chemical Engineering, the Department/Study Program of Industrial Engineering and Management, and the Department/Study Program of Informatics Engineering. Since preparation was needed for the latter two departments, these two departments were only able to admit new students in the academic year 1995/1996, with the names of the Industrial Engineering Department and the Informatics Engineering Department. The inaugural lecture for these two departments was held on August 28, 1995.

Considering the industrial need for mid-level professionals, FTI subsequently established the Diploma 3 (D3) Study Program starting in the academic year 2004/2005, based on the Operating Permit from Dikti No. 1340/D/T/2004 dated April 12, 2004. Meanwhile, the need for graduate-level graduates was addressed by the establishment of the Master of Industrial Engineering program, which is currently managed under the Graduate Program of UPNVY. The inaugural lecture for the MTI program was held on September 25, 2006.
