First Public Lecture on Industrial Engineering

Yogyakarta – The President Director of PT. Yogya Presisi Tehnikatama Industri (YPTI), Mr. Petrus Tedja Hapsoro, delivered the First Public Lecture with the theme "The Role of Manufacturing Industry in the Industry 4.0 Revolution" to Industrial Engineering students at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The aim of this lecture was to provide insights to students, especially those in industrial engineering, regarding industrial developments. With the Industry 4.0 revolution already unfolding, the lecture aimed to prepare students for the challenges ahead.
The public lecture was opened by the Coordinator of the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program, Moch. Chaeron, S.T., M.T., followed by a speech from an alumni of the Industrial Engineering department at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta.
In front of the students, Mr. Petrus explained the evolution of the industrial revolution from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0. He also discussed the role of the manufacturing industry and the strength of the industrial sector in Indonesia in the current era of Industry 4.0. Additionally, he provided insights into the competencies that students must prepare in terms of hard skills, soft skills, and attitude, which are essential for graduates. "What companies need are graduates who possess competencies in line with the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) standards," said Mr. Petrus.
