EvaluWaste: Cutting-Edge Electronic Waste Management Solution by UPNVY Industrial Engineering Team Wins in National Education Competition

The Industrial Engineering student team from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) “Veteran” Yogyakarta achieved remarkable success at the National Education Competition Season 2, held at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta on May 12-13, 2024. The team members were:
- Muhammad Zaim Al Hakim (122200070)
- Muhammad Ihsan Ridho (122200072)
- Raihan Putra Taufik (122200078)
- Nikolas Pandhu Dewanata (122200094)
They successfully developed and presented a business plan titled "EvaluWaste: Cutting-Edge Electronic Waste Management Solution", an innovation that offers an environmentally friendly approach to electronic waste management with significant potential in the technology sector.
The following achievements were earned by the team:
- Gold Medalist (1st Place) in the Technology Business Plan Category
- 1st Runner-Up in the General Category (Top 4 out of 300 teams)
This achievement not only highlights their ability to design innovative solutions but also showcases their dedication and creativity in addressing environmental challenges through technology. The success of this team proves that UPN Veteran Yogyakarta students are ready to compete at the national level and contribute significantly to society and industry.

Chemical Engineering Students of UPNVY Win 2nd Place in the National Writing Competition Agricultural Food Competition Season 16 (2025)
Students from the Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI) at the University of Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (UPNVY) have won 2nd place in the National Writing Competition Agricultural Food Competition Season 16, held at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. This UPNVY student team presented an innovation titled ECOWRAP: An Eco-Friendly Biodegradable Wrapping Film Based on Water Hyacinth and Corn Cobs to Extend the Shelf Life of Fruits and Vegetables.

UPN 'Veteran' Yogyakarta Creates Environmentally Friendly Eco-Cement from Eggshells and Water Hyacinth (2025)
A research team from the Chemical Engineering Department of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta has successfully developed an innovative eco-cement made from eggshells and water hyacinth, which is environmentally friendly and has the potential to be a construction material of the future. This research is led by Dr. Heri Septya Kusuma, S.Si., M.T., together with four students: Aurelio Muhammad Saleemah Agung, Najla Anira Putri, Muhamad Shifu, and Nafisa Illiyanasafa.
