UPNVY Team Wins 3rd Place in FAPERTA Fair Essay Competition

A team from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY), consisting of Dennys Ilham Sugiarto (143210065/Development Economics), Hani Aprilia Astuti (133200051/Soil Science), and Amorette Garnetta Lasmana (122220057/Industrial Engineering), successfully won 3rd Place in the FAPERTA FAIR #5 Essay Competition, organized by Sentosa Foundation in Bali on May 18-19, 2024.
This competition is part of the FAPERTA FAIR event, which invites participants to submit written works on current issues related to agriculture, the environment, and sustainability. The essay submitted by the UPNVY team stood out due to its in-depth analysis, innovative approach, and practical solutions for addressing major challenges in environmental conservation and agricultural development.
In addition to their outstanding research and writing skills, the team impressed the judges with their ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively. Each team member, from different academic disciplines, brought their unique perspectives and expertise to create a comprehensive and thorough written work.
This achievement not only reflects the academic excellence of the students but also emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in facing global challenges such as sustainability and environmental protection. Chemical Engineering Students of UPNVY Win 2nd Place in the National Writing Competition Agricultural Food Competition Season 16 (2025)
Students from the Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI) at the University of Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (UPNVY) have won 2nd place in the National Writing Competition Agricultural Food Competition Season 16, held at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. This UPNVY student team presented an innovation titled ECOWRAP: An Eco-Friendly Biodegradable Wrapping Film Based on Water Hyacinth and Corn Cobs to Extend the Shelf Life of Fruits and Vegetables.

UPN 'Veteran' Yogyakarta Creates Environmentally Friendly Eco-Cement from Eggshells and Water Hyacinth (2025)
A research team from the Chemical Engineering Department of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta has successfully developed an innovative eco-cement made from eggshells and water hyacinth, which is environmentally friendly and has the potential to be a construction material of the future. This research is led by Dr. Heri Septya Kusuma, S.Si., M.T., together with four students: Aurelio Muhammad Saleemah Agung, Najla Anira Putri, Muhamad Shifu, and Nafisa Illiyanasafa.
