Informatics Department

    The Informatics Department at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta offers two study programs: the Informatics Program and the Information Systems Program. Both of these programs are designed to produce graduates with skills and knowledge in information technology that are relevant to industry needs.

• Informatics Program

    The Informatics Program focuses on software development, algorithms, programming, artificial intelligence, and fundamental computer technologies. Students will study various fields such as Geoinformatics, Intelligent Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Systems, and Networking. Career prospects for this program include positions such as System Programmer, Network Service Supervisor, Database Administrator, Software Engineer, and Web Developer.

• Information Systems Program

    The Information Systems Program emphasizes the application of information technology to solve business and managerial problems within organizations. Students will learn about information systems analysis and design, IT project management, as well as the implementation and maintenance of information systems that can enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Career prospects for this program include positions such as Information Technology Associate, IT Strategic Planning Analyst (IT/IS), System Analyst, Enterprise Architect, Business Analyst, and Information Analyst.

    Both programs complement each other, with the Informatics Program focusing more on technical aspects and software development, while the Information Systems Program focuses on applying technology to support business and organizational needs. Thus, these two programs offer options for students interested in information technology from both technical and managerial perspectives.
