One of the annual programs of the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) is the Industrial Career Workshop, which this year carried the theme “Prepare Yourself by Using Added Value To Get a Dream Job During the New Normal Era.” The event was held over two days, on August 29-30, 2020.
The Industrial Career Workshop (commonly abbreviated as ICW) is one of the flagship programs of the Industrial Engineering Student Association, which consists of a seminar and workshop on preparing for the workforce. This year marks the fourth year of ICW. The theme this year is “Prepare Yourself by Using Added Value To Get a Dream Job During the New Normal Era.” Two main points are emphasized in this theme. First, the goal is to educate participants on how to optimize themselves to become a workforce with high capabilities and competitiveness and to prepare for the challenges of the New Normal era in various industrial sectors.
This year’s ICW featured three speakers from different fields and lasted for two days. On the first day, the event was moderated by WIdya Nurul Shofa, S.T., an alumna of the Industrial Engineering program at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (class of 2013) with a profession as an Event Organizer for Taekwondo Competitions. The first speaker on the first day was Dr. Hj. Wahyu Suprapti, M.M., M.Psi-T, a professional trainer at the Pusdiklat (Training Center) of the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia. She delivered a session titled “Change Your Mindset Now! To Get Your Dreamed Job.” The second speaker was Andreas Kurniawan, an IT CEO & Founder of the startup Jasaperantara.com. He presented insights on how the New Normal conditions are affecting companies in their search for new employees.
On the second day, the event was moderated by Astrid Wahyu Adventri Wibowo, S.T., M.Sc, a lecturer in the Industrial Engineering Department at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. This day featured a workshop on creating CVs and LinkedIn accounts. The workshop was led by Eza Setiawan Hazami, an HRD at PT. Mandom Indonesia and an HR content creator with a large following on Twitter and Instagram.
A total of 173 participants attended the event, coming from various universities such as Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Gunadarma, and others.
The Industrial Engineering Department of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta hosted an International Seminar on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The seminar, titled the 1st International Conference on Engineering Optimization and Management in Industrial Applications (ICEOMIA 2022), carried the theme "Advancement of Optimization, Engineering Technology, and Management for a Sustainable Environment."

PPIC is a national seminar regularly organized by HMTI since 2009.
