Industrial Engineering Department Holds National Seminar and Workshop PPIC 2021

The Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta held the Production Planning & Inventory Control (PPIC) 2021 event on November 20 and 21, 2021. PPIC is a national seminar regularly organized by HMTI since 2009. This year, PPIC was conducted online through the Zoom Meeting platform, featuring keynote speaker Mrs. Nur Indrianti, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, along with three guest speakers: R. Bambang Irawan, General Manager of PPIC at PT Phapros, Nandi Julyanto, Vice President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, and Utari Meitridasari, Department Head of PPIC at PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Mayora Group) Palembang.
In this event, Ir. Nur Indrianti, M.T., D.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng, the keynote speaker, discussed the implementation of PPIC in Indonesia's manufacturing industry in a sustainable manner. "It is expected that you can implement an integrated system between production planning and inventory control in manufacturing companies, and foster cooperation between companies and universities," said Nur Indrianti.
Additionally, R. Bambang Irawan discussed the transformation of PPIC strategies in the pharmaceutical industry to support sustainable productivity. Nandi Julyanto reviewed integrated and sustainable strategy designs in PPIC for reform in the automotive industry. Lastly, Utari Meitridasari explained the implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) as an effective strategy to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic in the food and beverage industry.
The theme of this year's PPIC was "Sustainable and Integrated Strategy in PPIC for Rebound of Manufacturing Industries Amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic." Kevin Nugroho Bayu Pratama, the chairman of PPIC 2021, explained that this theme was chosen in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic that started in 2019, which had a significant impact on the industrial sector.
"Through PPIC 2021, we want to understand the challenges faced by companies due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, we want to observe and learn how PPIC is implemented in companies during the pandemic," explained Kevin.
