Karya Village
The success of a country's development can be measured by the progress of its people's economic level and their well-being. To achieve a good standard of living, people need to make specific efforts to improve their quality of life. Therefore, a platform for community empowerment is needed, such as the provision of employment opportunities or other activities related to improving people's living standards and economic conditions.
Trumpon Village, located in the Sleman region, has 98% of its population working as salak (snake fruit) farmers. After the harvest, the salak produced by the people of Trumpon is sold for Rp. 2,500.00 to Rp. 5,000.00 per kilogram. This price is considered inadequate compared to the efforts involved in growing the fruit. The relatively low price of salak has led to a low economic standard for the community, as the income from the sale of salak is insufficient to meet their daily needs. Therefore, there is a need for added value in the sale of salak to increase the selling price of this product.
The establishment of small and medium enterprises (UMKM) focusing on processed salak products is expected to improve the income of the Trumpon community. This initiative involves providing training on how to make pickled and candied salak products, as well as assisting in the distribution of these products both online and offline.
