FTI Students Passed PIMNAS 34 at USU

Students from the Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI), UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, have successfully advanced to the 34th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS 34), which was held virtually at the University of Sumatra Utara (USU). The team, consisting of Syauqi Muhammad Khoirul Anwar, Juine Rosalina, Tiara Salsabila Shafa, Gilang Ramadhan, and Muhammad Afif Bayhaqi, created an innovation called the MILAKU KOPI Machine Design for Coffee Bean Quality Sorting Based on Sensors, specifically designed for Koperasi Kebun Makmur (a coffee plantation cooperative).

This innovation provides significant benefits to the cooperative, particularly in improving productivity and maintaining the quality of the coffee beans. By utilizing sensor technology, the machine can sort coffee beans based on their quality, ensuring that only the best beans are selected for sale or further processing. The team’s participation in PIMNAS 34, which took place from October 25 to 30, 2021, is a proud achievement for UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, as they successfully integrated practical engineering solutions to real-world problems in the coffee industry, while also providing a positive impact on the sector.
