September 23, 2024

The Independent Learning Campus Freedom Program (MBKM) is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia to enhance the quality of higher education. Launched in 2020, this program provides students with the opportunity to learn outside traditional classrooms and explore various experiences relevant to the workforce. Additionally, the program offers more flexibility in students' learning experiences while promoting skills and knowledge aligned with industry needs.

Key Components of MBKM:

  • Internship Activities: Working in companies or organizations to gain hands-on experience.
  • Student Exchange: Opportunities to study at other campuses, both domestically and abroad.
  • Humanitarian Projects: Involvement in projects that have a positive impact on society.
  • Research Activities: Students can engage in research to develop their knowledge and skills.

UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta offers students the chance to participate in student exchanges with UPN "Veteran" Jakarta as part of supporting the Independent Learning Campus Freedom Program (MBKM). The goals of this exchange program are to:

  • Broaden Perspectives: Students can learn from different academic environments, enriching their educational experience.
  • Build Networks: Opportunities to interact and build relationships with students from other campuses, which can be beneficial for future careers.
  • Diversify Learning: Students can choose courses or study programs that may not be available at their home campus.
  • Personal Development: Facing new challenges in a different environment can help students develop skills and confidence.

This student exchange program will be held for a specific period, during which students from each university can apply to participate. Participants are expected to quickly adapt and actively engage in academic and social activities at the host campus.

Additionally, this program is expected to strengthen cooperation between UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta and UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education in Indonesia. Through this collaboration, both institutions can exchange experiences and best practices, producing graduates who are more competitive and ready to face challenges in the workforce.
