🎓 Welcome, Garuda FTI 2025!
"Welcome, Future Nation Builders!"
Yogyakarta, August 13, 2025 – As part of the Campus Life and National Defense Orientation Program (PKKBN), the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI), UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, officially welcomed 1,120 new students for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event, themed “Garuda FTI 2025!”, marked an important moment and the beginning of the academic journey for students joining the FTI UPNVYK academic community.
This event served not only as a formal welcoming ceremony but also as a platform to introduce both academic and non-academic aspects of life within the Faculty of Industrial Engineering. The program was designed to give new students a comprehensive overview of the academic system, campus environment, and student life they will experience throughout their studies.
Moreover, it marked a significant transition phase, officially recognizing the shift in status from high school students to university students of FTI UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
The event began with welcoming remarks from the Student Committee Chair, followed by remarks from the Lecturer and Staff Committee Chair, and continued with the official opening of the PKKBN FTI 2025 program by the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering.
In his speech, the Dean emphasized the importance of mental readiness, strong character building, and a spirit of innovation as essential foundations for students in navigating university life and preparing themselves for the professional world ahead.
During the session, the Dean also introduced the faculty leadership and administrative team to the new students, including:
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (Wadek I)
Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance (Wadek II)
Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation (Wadek III)
Heads and Secretaries of Departments
Program Coordinators
General and Finance Section Coordinators
Department Operators of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering
This session aimed to foster an early sense of familiarity and connection between new students and the academic community.
The event continued with the symbolic official opening of the PKKBN FTI 2025 program by the Dean, marking the beginning of the orientation and development activities for the new students.

To close the event, the team from KOMDIGI – KOMINFO DIY introduced official digital information channels of the faculty and emphasized the importance of digital literacy and communication ethics in today’s technology-driven world. KOMDIGI plays a vital role in bridging communication between students, lecturers, and the academic community through fast, informative, and reliable digital media.
With renewed spirit, FTI UPNVYK’s new students are ready to grow into intelligent, mentally strong individuals, active in organizations, and committed to contributing to Indonesia’s future.
