HMTI UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Successfully Holds the Seminar & Workshop on Production Planning and Inventory Control 2020

The Seminar & Workshop on Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) is one of the annual programs of the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. The PPIC 2020 Seminar & Workshop was held on October 24-25, 2020, with the theme "PPIC in Service Industry and The Role of Service to Improve The Global Economy." In addition to organizing the PPIC 2020 seminar and workshop, an essay and poster competition was also held, with the theme "The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Service Industry." This year, the PPIC Seminar & Workshop was held a bit differently from previous years; it was conducted online due to the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The seminar & workshop had a total of 158 participants, categorized as general attendees.
The PPIC 2020 seminar & workshop featured three speakers and lasted for two days. The session, including the introduction of speakers, was moderated by Mrs. Ria Melliyana Purba, S.T., an alumni of the Industrial Engineering Department at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. On the first day of the PPIC 2020 seminar & workshop, the session started with a presentation by the keynote speaker, Mrs. Ir. Nur Indrianti, M.T., D.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng., an associate professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. After the keynote speech, the first speaker, Mr. Deo Wijaya, S.T., M.Sc., Senior Product Manager at Traveloka, delivered his presentation. Later on the same day, the second speaker, Mr. Adamas Belva Syah Defara, M.P.A., M.B.A., CEO/Co-Founder of Ruangguru, shared his insights.
On the second day, the seminar and workshop continued with Mr. Gerry Duta Handaru, S.T., M.Sc., Project Manager at PT DHL Supply Chain. The second day started with a presentation from the speaker, followed by the workshop. The workshop began with a problem statement from Mr. Gerry Handaru. During the workshop, each group was asked to discuss and find solutions to the problem. Afterward, a representative from each group presented their findings, and Mr. Gerry Handaru provided feedback on the workshop results. The Industrial Engineering Department of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta hosted an International Seminar on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The seminar, titled the 1st International Conference on Engineering Optimization and Management in Industrial Applications (ICEOMIA 2022), carried the theme "Advancement of Optimization, Engineering Technology, and Management for a Sustainable Environment."

The Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta held the Production Planning & Inventory Control (PPIC) 2021 event on November 20 and 21, 2021. PPIC is a national seminar regularly organized by HMTI since 2009. This year, PPIC was conducted online through the Zoom Meeting platform, featuring keynote speaker Mrs. Nur Indrianti, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, along with three guest speakers: R. Bambang Irawan, General Manager of PPIC at PT Phapros, Nandi Julyanto, Vice President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, and Utari Meitridasari, Department Head of PPIC at PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Mayora Group) Palembang.

Industrial engineering is a field with a very broad scope, covering design, installation, and improvement of integrated systems consisting of humans, materials, information, equipment, and energy. Additionally, industrial engineering is one of the aspects of life affected by the rapid changes in the new normal era due to the pandemic.
