Training of Trainers (ToT) E-Learning SPADA WIMAYA UPNVY in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering

The Training of Trainers (ToT) SPADA WIMAYA UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Batch 1 in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering was held on July 16, 2020. This training is part of an effort to develop human resources in managing online learning. The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Ir. Mahreni, M.T., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of strengthening teaching competencies in the digital era.

The goal of this training is to enhance the capacity of faculty members and instructors to effectively utilize the SPADA (Online Learning System) platform, particularly in the context of technology-based and digital teaching. In addition, this training is a strategic step to support the implementation of distance education at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta. SPADA is a flexible and distributed distance learning platform that can be accessed nationally by higher education institutions across Indonesia. This system is owned and managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (KEMENDIKBUD), aimed at facilitating faculty members in institutions that do not yet have an online learning management system.

SPADA WIMAYA UPNVY is an integrated online learning platform owned by Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (UPNVY), developed to prepare for the new academic year 2020/2021. This platform is designed to meet the needs of faculty members and students at UPNVY to carry out learning activities effectively and efficiently. SPADA WIMAYA integrates important features such as course materials, video conferences, assignments, and semester exams in a single, easy-to-access system. With the existence of SPADA WIMAYA, it is hoped that the learning process will run smoothly, even in an online format, and support a more flexible learning experience for the entire academic community of UPNVY.

The Training of Trainers (ToT) SPADA WIMAYA UPNVY was provided to all faculty members in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at UPNVY, divided into two batches: Batch 1, which took place on July 16, 2020, and Batch 2 on July 29, 2020. The ToT activity was conducted face-to-face while adhering to Covid-19 health protocols. Throughout the training, all participants and committee members were required to wear masks and maintain physical distancing to ensure safety and comfort for all involved.

The training content included an introduction to various main features of the SPADA WIMAYA platform, such as how to log in, update profiles, create course topics, upload materials, create attendance records, and conduct video conferences. Additionally, the training also covered more complex additional features, allowing instructors to manage online learning more effectively and efficiently.

The Head of LP3M UPNVY, Mr. Partoyo, S.P., M.P., Ph.D., hopes that all data from faculty and student learning activities will be well recorded in this application, thus serving as supporting data for accreditation and university ranking processes. Furthermore, learning through SPADA UPNVY also represents the contribution of faculty members to their respective educational institutions.
